Emotions Expressed is a fun and therapeutic game that allows families to explore and express a variety of emotions.  Families become aware of the situations that help to   create comfortable emotions and the need that arises as a result of uncomfortable emotions. By using this resource family members will develop the ability to empathise, understand and accept emotions felt by both themselves and by other members within the family.
 
This resource promotes the development of emotional, mental health and wellbeing and builds upon the following essential areas; self awareness, empathy, social skills, anger management and coping skills. This resource has been successfully used with  individuals with the following: Anxiety, Depression, ODD, ADHD, ADD and AUTISM.
 
 
This resource will support users to:
Emotions Expressed will guide families through the steps needed to enable them to develop emotional literacy, use emotional language and become successful in identifying and understanding the need behind their actions.
 
This resource will support families to:
 
Develop emotional intelligence.
Practice emotional literacy.
Use and expand upon emotional vocabulary.
Explore both comfortable and uncomfortable feelings.
Identify the circumstances that trigger specific emotions in themselves.
Identify the events and circumstances that trigger specific emotions in others.
Identify the need that arises as a result of uncomfortable feelings in themselves and others.
Gain awareness of events and situations that create comfortable feelings in themselves and others.
Become empowered to take responsibility for maintaining their own individual emotional and mental wellness.
Help family members build stronger relationships.
Improve communication and resolve issues.
Develop a strong, safe, and secure family unit.
 
Emotions expressed will help family members to avoid toxic behaviours and habits that can be harmful to themselves and others; and instead help them to achieve their goals.
